Green Street has been East London's gold street for as long as anyone can remember, and Mahmooda Jewellers has been part of it since 1976.

Fifty years is long enough to be judged on it. Long enough that a bridal set chosen here comes back to be cleaned before the next wedding in the family, and that the person who sold it is still behind the counter.

We are not a chain and not a warehouse with a website. We are a shop on Green Street with a counter, a safe and a set of scales — and a family that has stood behind them for half a century.

Solid 22-carat throughout. Every piece is weighed in front of you and priced from the day's gold rate, so you can see exactly what you are paying for the metal and what you are paying for the making.

We buy gold.

Unwanted gold, broken chains, old jewellery — weighed and tested in front of you, paid at today's rate. Send a photo first if you like, and we will tell you honestly.

Re-polishing, restringing, resizing, clasp and chain repairs. Bring the piece in and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing before you commit to anything.
